Vintage Rose Canton Platter

A hand-painted Rose Canton oval platter, alive with a pink peony and rose spray at the center surrounded by butterflies, blossoms, and trailing green foliage in jewel-bright famille rose enamels, all framed by ornate iron-red and gilt borders.

Rose Canton is the flowers-and-butterflies branch of famille rose, painted entirely with blooms, butterflies, and birds and no figures. The underside carries an iron-red seal mark, and the piece dates to circa mid-20th century. Display it on a stand, layer it on a plate wall, or bring it out as a statement serving platter for a pretty table.
