Antique Mother-of-Pearl Opera Glasses, Lemaire Paris

Antique French opera glasses by Lemaire of Paris, with mother-of-pearl barrels set in brass. They date to the late 19th or early 20th century, when a night at the opera meant getting dressed for it, and the mother-of-pearl still shimmers when you turn them in the light. We like them on a stack of books on a desk or tucked onto a library shelf, where someone always ends up picking them up.

Condition: light wear consistent with age. Mother-of-pearl intact. Mechanism present.
